Purpose

To provide garden related activities for 4H Day Camp attendees.  Through hands-on activities, children will be educated about and introduced to gardening.

History of Committee

This committee started in 2003 to educate children in 4H about an aspect of horticulture, encourage their involvement with other plant related 4H projects, and inspire their interest in gardening.

This is a one day program that occurs in June.  Committee members will either make a brief presentation about seeds, assist children with planting seeds in small pots, or facilitate an additional garden related activity. Approximately 120 students from grades K-2 attend the Day Camp with their camp counselors.  They are divided into small groups for the activities.  Sharing your love of gardening with these active learners is a lot of fun!
