The Greens Workshop is a holiday crafting time designed for master gardeners to get together and make holiday arrangements. These designs can be for your coffee table, dinner table, front porch, mailbox, or as a gift for neighbors and friends. You are only limited by your imagination. It is a time in early December to work with live designer floral greens, evergreen cuttings, and tables full of dried plant material that your fellow master gardeners have gleaned from their yards. There is also a store with ribbon, pre-made bows, and holiday picks available for sale to jazz up your creations.
The workshop has been opened over the years to the general public when registration spots are available. If you are interested in attending and not sure of how to begin the design work, we have many members who are willing to help. We also have a professional florist at our event teaching three different designs and updating us on what is new for the holidays.
The day would not be complete without a continental breakfast and homemade lunch. A variety of soups, veggies, and tray of beautiful Christmas cookies usually round out the meal.
We find this a great way to usher in the holiday season with a group of friends crafting together, enjoying the sounds of the season, eating delicious food, and maybe even having a visit from the sleigh rider himself. You will have to be there to believe it.
We hope you can set aside a December Saturday to be a part of the fun. Those who do usually keep on coming back. We will look for you this year. Registration typically begins in mid-late October. Be watching this website for more information.
